just my opinion would be if the ground wer bottomless defo around thoney march crowland plenty of talk about 5s lets see the three done in them coditions then talk about five fh bought a bitch called bonney after seeing her run two matchs on that type of going on the black she stoped 2 from 3 on both matchs she was charlie x saluki first time i see her run she stoped 4 out of five i bought the bitch off of fred one of the best ive seen to this day she won both them matchs atb mate

Hares can be the strangest aswell as most fascinating of creatures, seen them sitting watching dogs running towards them and waiting til the last second before attempting to get to safety, another time we were heading back after a day on the land when a hare come over the field and lay down, we had 4 lurchers and a terrier with us and we still could'nt put her up, no wonder there is so many myths and folklore on them, weird things alright and true survivors

In your opinion do you think the dogs of recent times are as strong as dogs of the past such as swoop s r or that recent hares are more softer..

i will say that you seem to hear of a lot more injures now all them olduns seem to run week in week out 2 times a week with swoop i never really had an injury that laid her of same as the dogs i bred out of her you obviously had stoppers the odd rip just wear and tear like tyres on a car every one nos the climate has changed there wer weeks of hard frost back then [BANNED TEXT] you couldnt run id say that the hares you found after these frosts would be the fitest of the fit we dont get those frosts anymore so thers still a few about in late dec jan and early feb which wouldnt of made it back then then you could go into things like temperature whose it favour dog or hare i dont no but 10 12 degrees in jan weras back then maybe 4 6 in my opinion the dogs are getting it in there favour

i will say one thing that fh said to me a while back we never used to get many injurys back then they wer a hard old breed i reckon the breedings to close probebly bang on the money thats why its a good thing that theres a few lads putting the pures back to the coursing dogs

A lot of factors can contribute to types and seriousness of injuries sustained and recovery time Lots of inferior stock being bred from untested stock . Supplying an ever growing demand especially the need for speed instead of quality and longevity. Conditioning a dog is an art the balance between feeding, training Conditioning to bring the best out of the dog some can do it some cant. Walking machines how do they condition a dog for coursing,? the lead walking , cycling with the dog and running out on the land all time served methods to get to where you need to be. All the latest tecnological advances mag boxes, hydro pools ETC all have a place but cant replace the blood sweat and tears it takes to get something worth while..

i do like the saluki x coursing dog but i also like a wellbred coursing xcoursing dog even better one that can do its job once or twice a week with no excuses have you got a bone mans number mr powers just in case thing is i no i wont need one the way my bitch is bred
