bitches bloodlines and the bitch I'm running today

merlin and eve lines

Good to see plenty of Bedlington Terrier blood in these dogs, without it they would be shite,Saluki & Grey blood pfffft utter pish,Beddy lurchers through & through & you know it ?

In the old clubs pre ban they ran proper fair law so a lot of dogs would of struggled too kill all the hares they ran one look at most coursing on dvd n you lucky too see twenty yard slip most are straight kick ups rest thirty yards at very best, people far worse at judging distance than time when it comes too dogs lol

Think they a lit like coursing Lurchers on a sort of micro scale, for every litter bred realistically there are only one maybe three alpha type pups ie exactly what you need for size strength good head sound temperament good feet bit of character, then they have too go too right home ie a men who wants a pure saluki, not a man who wants a pure too do a saluki Lurchers job, cos he the man who will wait the dog out and get into its head make it part of a team, I honestly think if the right men took them the breed would improve faster, fresh blood definitely plays its part in improving what we'd have weather it's mixing back too existing uk line or waiting for next big thing too arrive

Seen some outstanding runs from uk bred stuff likes of bill20 balouki dog ran like the devil possessed checking hare at every opportunity mouth like a piranha fish pure terrorised it's hares shame it died think it would of added something for certain, my coursing partners import bitch seen her run off half mile slip and kill six mins later after a war, Cambridge five mins on seed same bitch small fast doe, TB Sonny dog running altcar area as an older dog, pp paddy killing hares on postage stamp fields where I seen coursing digs run on dvd n miss, my own dogs had some great days in hares and also done very well as an allrounder day n night, lot of the other lads mentioned above do far more than simply run them on hares twice a week, they run them like Lurchers and from what I've seen it works for the dogs, don't get me wrong every dog n bitch mentioned has missed hares for sure my own included but that's reality and too be fair to them all they where ran from fair law skips when they ran together no kick ups

The quickest we've had was cruise bred, maybe its breeding kizzy pharaoh dogs together through lack of choice? Although its causing problems now.

Problems? Most are healthy despite how close they are, there will be problems agin soon as some use one dig but another dogs papers but we seen all that before in past, it's when regular health problems occur the real worry starts, heard nothing since bendy legs few year back

Avoid dodgy breeders and you won't get stitched simples all that glitters is not gold is the rule of thumb worker too worker the only real way forward

Think there enough fresh blood out there it's getting it tested for a few seasons instead of simply breeding from it cos it's different or comes with a fancy story or big money, cos the money and it's grandparents won't be able too help it once the hares up n running it needs too write it's own story then ?

Agree with most of the above, the only place to test a dog in its abilities and its heart is out on the Land. Running all types of game and Terrain. No doubt some lads like out and out Hare coursers dont we all ,but in order to enhance the inherent qualities of the Saluki ,they need to be given the opportunity to perform to their full potential. Times now are difficult but where there is a will there is a way. I fully believe that there is UK stock tucked away in nooks and crannies maybe aged stuff but the quality to breed is out there, the problem is getting sufficient numbers to test their charges.

Outcrossing too the coursing bitch I used was a no brainer for me Gilbey ? Having owned the dams full litter brother from pup and knowing how all the litter mates gone on over years it was a stroke of luck getting the bitch as she a real specimen of her breed (see pic below) her two sisters went too Romeo which kept the line true too what the breeders likes I decided too go saluki as I like pures lol the litter produced some lovely stock but it was obvious my dog stamped his gene well n truly on the litter plenty fluffy lugs etc lol they summat different maybe the Romeo ones be loads better who knows its all a chance am well pleased with what I have off that litter good solid dog clever with it speeds coming on nicely, turns like an ballet dancer for such a lump looks promising but then again they all do st that age lol

it would be interesting artic if there are decsent animals out of those matings to put the romeo mating back to one of yours out of nero with swoop i kept that line tight through fly [BANNED TEXT] using dell then outcrossed the next time to beany the plan was to put bo who was out of dell to tess who was out of beany it never happend both dogs bo and tess wer great animals the nearest thing swoop ever through to herself would have been an interesting mating

That's an option for the future mate for certain, I had a few Lurchers bred from buddy over time n always liked that blood line excellent drive most been from same line as dam too my two coursers which put in a pushy style n good strike worked well over time

Romeo I had bitch pup out very first lining from the off she had that magic sparkle real uns do every thing come natural too her she had right temperment as well, I can only see positives from Romeo blood which bears out in future litters firemans belle Tia the saluki and many menu others benefit from the quality blood Romeo improving many types he out too so yea in future it's an option I know lot of lads who got pups out Romeo too pearl n floss not all coursers either these will be tested far deeper than any hare could take them will only benefit the lines further in future good too see them getting used for more than coursing hare frankel n Fuji prime examples

To be fair though games changed a lot you take massive risk too run very best hares n some places even kick up no guarantee of success, seen mine blown away of ones that just got up n I slipped off reaction real close some hares just got it just like some digs have not the mugs the real cream

Fact is in match you have too take every single chance available too win and that's fact, most the top named dogs n bitchs you here of do them off the big slips on day too day basis no one risk a dog that only kill kick ups they the ones that come second been there plenty times lol

The massive slips of the old club days gone but so has driving hares into the area and loads of people blocking hares natural run routes maybe today's dogs have it harder there some real class ones out there that kill numbers year in year out
