Strong Gales At The Range /and A Quick Visit To The Big Perm

Recommended Posts

Me and vis went to the range to set up the rifles for the week end down at Davids

as soon as we got there the wind was all ready strong and just got stronger as the day got on

trying to set up the pro sport was a nightmare the 177 pellets were going every where mind the 22 did not fair much better at first

i had the hw100 standing on her pod ,the wind blew the bench mats over then the full tin of 177 went over to so had to play 500 pick up

next i went to put out the targets and just got back to the bench rest when all i heard was a big clatter the wind had lifted the hw100 off its pod and over she went

but thank fully she was ok not a mark on her any where thank feck

started to zero the pro sport out to 28 yrds (sorry mark could not get the rest as i dont have a range finder) using the AA,express 7,87gr

the wind was putting them every where i did not want them to go

Card 1 pro sport zeroing in the scope

Card 2 a lot better pro sport

then i started on the hw100 22 pellets jsb RS 13,43 gr

now the wind was still affecting these to but not as bad

Card 3 hw 100 22

By the way Vis pulled a cracking shot 60 mtrs two shots first miss second bulls eye

in strong gales top class / s410 177 full left hander

most were in the 5p zone but a few as you will see the wind put them where it wanted them to go in both 177 and 22

it got that strong the wind we packed up and headed to the big perm 5000 acres just to have a look round in day light and to see just what we had and whee our boundaries were

We drove across fields with Vis disco along dirt tracks came to fields we did not know were there let alone are ours .

now we no what and where we can go and were we cant up until now we have just stuck to the fields near the farm buildings but now we can drive the perm well watch this space lol

Mint post. Sweet to see others permissions too, loads of open ground there Mac, you just stalk or set up shop in certain places?. f**k me it's like the Derbyshire dales :)

Stalk, rez as there is that much land to cover mate its unreal and a lot of hilly fields if you know what i mean mate

plus a lot of wood land to and i mean a lot the photos are of the top of the perm there is still the flat land as we call it

ill get some more photos when we go to the bottom of the perm next time we are there .

the farm building in pic 6 is not the farm the farmers home and barns are 6 times bigger than the one in the photo lol

David Evans has been to the perm Rez but on the flat lands part he could tell you how big it is lol

Agree with rez, mint, looks a very good place with lots of options, used to go with a bloke on a 900 or so acre place with his hawk and occasionally air rifles, fantastic place and looks very similar land to that, had lots of game and had some good hunting there, get us some more pics and that was decent shooting in strong wind
