I got a cordless 150 here from D LLoyd, used it for the 2nd time tonight, for the money it's a great little lamp. Some of the land I run it gets a bit lost, the fields are big, the beam is very tight

i agree with roybo the 150 is better at its limits than the 170.   i have witnessed the 150 cordless lamp handle a bag of 50 rabbits in a night and still be going strong. ive got a 150 with the cord

I've tried the 150 next to a 170 the beam goes as far and at its limits you can see more than a 170. Of course they don't have the throw of a 210 or 240 they are only a fraction of the size, but if t

each to theyer owen but to me the 150 is a far beter lamp for price and distance clarity of light and a nice tight spot with no wirers to pull out or tangle up at vitel moments.and ill be selling both soon so its not the case of by the 150 cose i sell them its jest my upineon sos about the spelling

Yea lithium pal a deben one

,but we'll all like different lamps and different lights so I would advise anyone to try to see as many as is out there and make their own minds up and weigh up the cost etc if anyone from the Midlands wants to see one pop round I'll show them the beam..

Roybo was the 170 halogen running off a lithium? The halogens shine brighter off lithium than the acids.

yes it was mate it was a 22 am i was there to see it
was only wondering as the one night I was out my 140 looked whiter than 170 that was run on an acid. There's no denying the 150 are great little lamps especially for the money they feel ALOT better than the tracer and strikers etc for build too

The 150 LED doesn't go as far as a 170 striker and the beam is far too tight its like looking down a smarty tube and the beam is too white and bleached out what ever your trying to spot ,, I'll stick to my 170 striker and lithium battery

After reading all the positive reviews on here about the PLR500 I went out and bought one,

the above sums it up for me, I find the beam too tight and the light is that white I have

trouble spotting rabbits unless the grass is really cropped. The positives are the cost and

the distance of the beam but at the moment I prefer the light from a halogen bulb.

It's not just the whiteness of the light I just find the beam far too tight for running dogs with.

I've been out with it a good few times now and still find spotting rabbits harder unless the grass is short.

Some of the land I run it gets a bit lost, the fields are big, the beam is very tight but for rabbits in paddocks or medium sized fields I reckon they'll be great.

Agree with Katchum, they aint a lamp for all occasions and wont replace my 210 with lithium set up, but will definitely be used a bit over the next few seasons.

Love that it's cordless too, gonna put a little eye bolt in the thread on the bottom and run a string through for hanging round your neck.
