tomburras 2,729 Posted February 8, 2016 Report Share Posted February 8, 2016 theres plenty of goldfinches here too they are preferring the sunflower hearts. they seem to be getting more common? i hardly used to see them now we often get 20 in the same tree fighting over the feeder. low plains drifter 10,344 Posted February 8, 2016 Report Share Posted February 8, 2016 I've started using no waste wild bird seed, it's got niger in the mix, and canary seed, and it's coated with aniseed oil, got allsorts of birds coming in for it including the goldfinch, been growing teasel in my neighbours derelict garden aswell, and i'm going to turn it into a wildflower meadow when the days get a bit more sunlight 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

There's a big pied wagtail roost near my office. It's in the middle of a city, must be 100 plus come into 3 small trees on an evening.
