ZeusPolecat 185
A great contrast on how a hob works compared to jills (In the previous videos). The shots of the hob intercepting the rabbits is a little out of shot, but perhaps that's best as I don't want to show too much. Unfortunately there are a few myxi rabbits in the video, I fear my best permission is overrun with the disease. I hope to spend some time on a different permission to end the season. Its twenty miles away from the outbreak... fingers crossed. Edited February 6, 2016 by ZeusPolecat 3 Quote Link to post

ZeusPolecat 185
You got more cameras than nets going on! Lol I hate watching the ferret kill the rabbit underground, makes you all sentimental! Set ups have gotten a bit ridiculous, especially when nothings home. But when I'm grey and old, looking back on my trips out, It will all be worth it. I am very aware it can be hard to watch for some. But also interesting and perhaps educational for others. I try to find a balance. Again can't see it doing the sport any favours , I remove loads of footage and sound. I do feel like I'm pushing it here but had a little stick on some of the old videos about the ferrets not preforming well enough. I'm trying to show those genuinely interested how this all works, while still keeping it tidy enough for other viewers. Not had any of that negativity yet other than people slagging the ferrets off. Felt It would be good to demonstrate how a bigger ferret (hob in this case) can impact the work underground. It may influence new starters decisions and provide a little experience before heading out... in a way. There's loads of photos of people pulling rabbits out with a ferret attached or vise versa. Plus much more. I'm sure many of the retrieving dogs will get more stick than whats going on through this end. I fully understand the concern here and do feel like I maybe pushed it with this one. I'll aim to tone it down in the future, It's hard when you get some exciting never before seen footage. I'm egar to hear other opinions on how much could be shown from either side as it will all be taken into consideration. The youtube side of things seems to be favorable at the moment and I don't intend to push it further. I know of vegetarian pet ferret owners who enjoy this style, more than other working videos, so It cant be too far wrong..? Edited February 13, 2016 by ZeusPolecat Quote Link to post

The one 8,485
Each to there own mate I hardly take a camera out with me when I go out now I feel I don't have to record what I'm up to and the less people know the better and if you do , do something wrong and the police , sspca get involved why gift them a record what you have done on film ? But Simon Whiteheads latest film wasn't it filmed mostly under ground by the same cameras ? Quote Link to post
ZeusPolecat 185
Seen videos on youtube of him filming with a camera mounted on a ferret. I've tried that too but the footage is never great, much better to have a stationary camera. Perhaps hes doing the same, I've not seen any of his DVDs. Quote Link to post

ZeusPolecat 185
Cheers for the video, very interesting. Shame about the mixi. Thanks. Think that area needs a rest. Hope to scrape another video or two from another area but feel theres only a fortnight in it. Quote Link to post
