Tomo made a good point for not using the nets on them big bankings the other day.. He caught 3 bunnies out of a massive warren that was like swiss cheese on a large banking..No nets down and dog grabbed em as they popped out etc etc..he said that took him about 15 mins or so...But if he had spent the time netting up it would have taken about an hour to lay them and take them up again.. all that time for 3 bunnies seems wasted on a lot of the ground we have covered this season.. Massive warrens that would normally hold large amounts are producing very few.

 

I've only netted up 2 times this season..last time was with you..lol.

The ground sound s like hit needs a break,, VIN iff the heart of the ground has in the massive set is dead then that tells me the place is dieing,,,

Not used a net once yet this season,,,,,but I did pick one up yesterday walking the dog,,,,a 3 foot bisley special ,,lol

 

Yeh that bank was steep,,,to stand up streight with feet flat,,I had to stand on a spoil heap from a hole ,,in normal years it would have held half a dozen or more rabbits,,,I did think twice about doing it,,but she was marking strong at one hole half way up,,,I popped in the two hobs,,,nothing in the bottom of the warren where one hob was working,,,but the other put two out the hole the bitch was marking,,,both caught in the entrance ,,,the other caught from a hole she marked a little higher up..top work by the young bitch,,and a real time saver

Yeh it does really need leaving Jim ,,,strangly though I had a few small sets with four in,,,so evened out a bit

Well done again, did the dogs account for many of the 60 rabbits? I was in Derbyshire recently and found an area lifting with rabbits setts. I will try and do some ferreting before season ends, nice open warrens as well but will need to explore more of that area to manage that number I think.
