low plains drifter 10,736
Barrera took the jam out of his doughnut, and the arrogant little scem could'nt take it like a champ, i knew a very handy thai boxer who asked naz a polite question one time, and he would'nt even acknowledge him
neil cooney 10,416
Ruined boxing for me. He was one of the first pay per view tours and he naming which round he'd knock out his opponent etc. and sure enough he usually did. He fought in Dublin before he made it big and came out doing his dance to the music, grabbed the top rope and somersaulted into the ring, landed on his arse, stood up and went back into his changing room and started again. Boxing should be about the boxing.

The first pay per view fight was The Thriller in Manilla 1975......if im not wrong the first Uk pay per view was Tyson v Bruno in 96.....even though Naz was the biggest name...............love him or hate him he was a British boxing sensation.

Oh yeh, he sold tickets, no doubt about it and because most ordinary Joe Soaps didn't have pay per view he also filled pubs. But the whole tour pay per view thing and Sky paying was the end of boxing for me. When Eubanks was paid as Champion to do an 8 fight tour didn't he get beaten after 2 or 3 fights. Made the rest of the tour an anti climax.
slip lead 862
Never liked him or his style of boxing, and he NEVER respected his opponents, standing over them with his hands up when they was flat on there back, but as soon as he was in the ring with a proper fighter(barrera) just make him look a clown..
