desertdog 149
Once they in the open the tables turn in dogs favour, the Bucks will bite and swing there heads at dog,can do some damage, good sporting characters, good eating.dont reckon it's to do with ground, depending how far your dog is away, Quote Link to post

A daytime muntjac in woodlands is a test for a dog , out in the open i have found the cwd be much less sporting where as the muntjac have a bit more fire in the belly and agression especially the bucks ... Phil Lloyd 10,738
I'm not a lover of a running dog running in woodland in any situation to many obstacles I keep away from them Yes,..the woods hold many dangers,...lost more dogs through breakages in woodland, than in any other situation... If they don't try, they don't catch,..and if they really try,.they frequently come unstuck,...it is a dilemma.. Unfortunately,..locally,..there is no hiding place,..no way to avoid the deer,...so,..it's a gamble... Some ya win,.some ya don't... 1 Quote Link to post

CushtyJook 1,097
Just one badly placed old branch or stump and a dog chasing quarry at high speeds can kill or the very least do serious serious damage I used to get my dog to pull up at cover and when he got older he would pull up but young dog would follow on and hunt up 1 Quote Link to post
