lurcherchavvy 3
how much do you feed her Quote Link to post
Hob&Jill 258
Just feed smaller amounts and let her have a good run around ever day if she lives in a hutch. If she is on dry food, just feed a small bowl a day as apposed to leaving a full bowl in there 24/7. If it is in half decent weight and only abit porky then take it ferreting, thats the best exercise they can get really. If it is completly over weight dont work it, it would be to much to soon. I have had a few fat ferrets and thats all I have done and they are in tip top shape now. Mind you, it isnt an instant thing it will take a good month to get it into decent shape. I like them like that, so there tummy dosent go in or out, just a nice consistancy. Good luck with it, H&J Quote Link to post

Guest lewie999
the only problem is i have another 2 jills livin in with her so do think it would be ok to put her in her own hutch and feed her less?! thank for your replies lewie Quote Link to post
Guest Bigbob
Try working her 3/4 days a week that will thin her down . Theres nought wrong with a wee bit of beef on a ferret if it gets stuck in a hole for a day or so but not on a rabbit it gives her something to fall back on till you get her out Quote Link to post

I thought it was natural for all animals to put weight on during winter time if its not affecting her work for you i wouldnt worry about it Better for her to be a healthy weight than to be a Posh spice Quote Link to post
