pianoman 3,587
Anyone between 14 and 18 years of age cannot transport an airgun – they must be accompanied and supervised by someone over 21. That makes no sense at al It makes no sense whatsover Mick! According to BASC on the law. You can shoot your air rifle on your permission from the age of 18 unsupervised. But this now apparently says you cannot transport/carry your cased, secured, unloaded air rifle to your permission unless accomapnied and supervised by someone of 21 years or older. Unless someone has made a typo error and means that, the ages from 14 to 17 years old, must be accompanied and supervised by a 21 year old or older person? An 18, 19 or 20 year old person may shoot unsupervised and transport his/her secured and unloaded rifle unsupervised. But themselves cannot supervise a younger shooter of 14 to 17 years or less of an age until he/she is 21 ....??? Edited February 2, 2016 by pianoman Quote Link to post
thecogsbollocks 44
I've just rung my local firearms department and they asked me if it was a standard 12 ft lbs air gun and I said yes then she had a look and said yeah you can carry it in public unloaded and uncocked with a reason for doing it at 18 ☺ Quote Link to post
treecreeper 1,136
So it should say "under" 18 like all the other age restriction laws 1 Quote Link to post
