Just got a broody gone down, will set some eggs Wednesday, when settled. Put 25 in incubator this morning Had 2 broodys on eggs and both failed. Eggs were fertile. "well one of the problems any way " im not doing brilliantly to be honest this year with hatch rates , i do everything under broodies and just about to set my 6th tomorrow ,last year couldnt go wrong ,this year doing exactly the same we have set a total of 38 eggs now and from them only got 13 birds so far ! got a broody on a dozen now for the last 2 weeks and a wheaten going broody now "collecting some eggs up for her once she has settled " The first 13 eggs 9 were fertile 6 hatched and 3 killed by the broody ,second 13 eggs 8 were fertile 6 hatched and 1 died after 2 weeks and last dozen 6 fertile and 4 unexplained dead in 24 hrs ! GO FIGURE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! at least its still relatively early and can do a bit more yet , i will try and get some pics uploaded Quote Link to post Share on other sites
