Mods clean the tread I'll hold the hands up shouldn't have posted on this tread I'll start me own

Please do, be my guest.

And in the thread you should admit that in a PM you've admitted to telling lies.

Now I wasn't on line all weekend, I was digging, but everyone's calling you a wanker now.

By being on this forum and using my real name I leave myself wide open for assholes like yourself to criticize . That's fine, I can handle tossers like you but you said that a man (a good honest man who's not on this site to defend himself) said something he didn't.

That makes you a liar. It's assholes like you what's wrong with the terrier game. Your type are it's cancer.

Now since you have admitted you've lied I can't see how you can ever add to this forum again as you know you wont be taken seriously.

But even if you left this forum you'd come back under a different name, just like your buddy did.

Mixedgrill, I would say you're a sausage short of a mixedgrill.

Now, back to the topic please. If a good man like Paccy Tormey was to read it, he'd laugh for a week.

Treehands, did Paccy ever tell you the story of the roadkill fox ???

I can't remember it correctly but Paccy used to tell it brilliantly.

Roughly what happened was that Paccy came upon a dead fox on the road and pulled up, but another fellow pulled up at the same time.

Paccy wanted either the whole body or the brush and the other fellow wanted either the whole body or the brush. I cant remember which.

The two of them ran for the fox and got it at the same time.

A tug-o-war ensued and the tail came off.

Which ever of them had the brush wouldn't give it to the lad who wanted it.

A funny story, does it ring a bell ?

Stories like this are what it should be all about , humorous tales of the good days . Days we will never get back , but we can listen and learn from the guys that have lived it and done it . Il be the first to admit that my first impression of mr cooney was that he was a know it all , but we can all get it wrong . The man has probably done as much and more than any of us , his only fault if you could call it that is that he tells it how it is and doesn't mince his words . Keep it up lads , a great thread that I hope hasn't ended

Thanks Black Buck, haven't done it all yet, doubt I ever will.

Mind you, done plenty and spent yesterday in the company of two lads a bit younger than me, so I'll call them young lads, but believe me it's a long time since I seen such good terriermen.

They didn't make a move without thinking first. They were with the terrier and ahead of the game the whole time. Good lads.

Terrier work is far from f****d because of the likes of the terriers and terriermen I seen yesterday.

Put me in a such a good mood I drank a few EXTRA glasses of cider last night for them.

I remember Packie 1 time we were out he was bursting for a crap so strolled of down the hedge to do the buisness. He was wearing overalls and as he was taking of the top half to get the bottom half down he forgot what he was doing and laid out the top half behind him on the ground and shit into them, and if that was not bad enough he then proceeded to pull them back up when finished no realizing the mistake he had made until he felt the warm shit against his back,f**k it was funny.Seen him another time while out on the local river poaching salmon strip off to his boxers and we started going down the river. He had left his clothes bundled up under a hedge. After about an hour the lamp went dead so we headed back down the bank to where he had left his clothes but it took us about an hour to find them in the dark with me another 2 lads and Packie walking up and down the field with a pair of working boots on and he in his boxers,if anyone seen us i think they would have brought Packie straight to the big white house[Mental] lol.

lol...Irelands full of them type of characters...always has been to be honest and the craic and laughs you looked forward to as much as the work.... there a man looking over this thread right now... I hadn't hunted with his brother in law in over 20 years and went out to do the cover with them the last previous 2 weeks... and we had some good sport for my big pup and great laughs at tea time... bout some of the characters that's either dead and gone or still knocking about!

And another thing is the farmers over here seem to be as mad.... as In I mean theres some rare folk knocking about the country lol... I remember I got emergency tax back from a meat facory I was working in early 95...we went to a place called cahir down near tipp to buy two terrier pups funnily enough of eddie chapman fox warren stuff... we were using just a big map you spread over the bonnet...we should have went the Dublin way but we went the galway way...we were only 3 miles from Donegal and no insurance or tax lol... we got lost somewhere round just outside ennis middle of no where just pure hill and heather...and us in an escort van...got over the now of a hill and there was a farmer... monkey hat, old like sleeping gown on him egg all over the front a pair of willies and a stick with him...we asked him the road to clonmel...he said he was going to round sheep but would show us part the way so when in back of van he was mumbling away....then shouted.... lads since ive a lift gis a run into maggies...its only down the road he said ...5 mile later were dropping him off at a sheabean and still known the wiser how to get to cahir!

Only wish I spent more time over there with Paccy an the crew but alas the terriers took me elsewhere..

Had some good craic over the years with the dogs, and have met some proper characters. An enough story's to fill a few hours.

Back in the day , regarding terrier work anywhere a fox would go me an my mates would follow.

And truly was a case of "He who dares wins"

Though I'm Terriers to the core, we done a lot with lurchers.

Haven't times changed!!!!!

I still have a skulk in places I shouldn't be, just to "dare myself".
