keep at them mate! its horrible situation mate I have had it with a mates litter and like you say you know they wont starve but it takes no time at all for a good healthy pup to go down hill fast. but by the sounds mate you are getting them back on track! nice to see a genuine dogman so bothered about the quality of his litter mate! good on you

Been on the phone to everyone I know aslong advice the boiled chicken worked a dream expect for the smallest bitch gone nip home from work dinner time and make some scrambled egg aswell think the warm food is appealing to them

Been on the phone to everyone I know aslong advice the boiled chicken worked a dream expect for the smallest bitch gone nip home from work dinner time and make some scrambled egg aswell think the warm food is appealing to them

 

its madness mate! had it with my current lurcher pup, she wouldn't eat a thing! and I actually contacted "skycat" off here and she sorted my right out! keep at them mate, you will turn them back around im sure of that.

Try adding probiotics to their food. And keep them on cooked chicken and rice until they are all shitting perfectly solid and have put on weight. Pups can easily get bacterial infections as their immune systems are still very immature. Make sure all bowls are scrubbed out spotless every day, including water bowl. Make sure run and bedding are cleaned every day too; do not use harsh chemicals to clean run: either steam clean or use boiling water to sluice run after cleaning. What bedding are pups on? Shavings are very bad as can get in their guts and cause problems. Vet bed is the best bedding. With sheets of newspaper underneath to absorb moisture. Change daily.

 

Make sure skinny pup is getting her share. And her share of the worming. Easy to overlook one pup if you're in a hurry: not saying this is the case, but it can happen.

Scrambled eggs with a bit of brown toast is good. Make sure pups are drinking enough water too. If they are desperate for bitch's milk they may not be drinking enough.

I would stop with the goats milk mate, when I got my pup I put him on puppy milk give him he runs an would not eat much, stopped with milk two days later he was eating well and runs stopped mate

Yes mate that's spot on ... Skinless and boiled and mix it with boiled white rice that's been throughly washed ... If they will,take it give them some pro biotic yogurt first it helps settle the gut and kickstarts the good enzymes ... Do not give them any fatty meat it can cause pancreatitis in young pups that have already got a gut infection ... Also don't mix in any dried food as it digests at a slower time than the meat so that means the gut is working twice as hard when you want it to be resting and healing and digesting food quickly ... Make sure they have got plenty of fresh water down mate and that they are staying hydrated ...,keep us posted owain ........

Do you think dry food grounded down to a powder and a little mixed with mince would go through the gut at different speeds I can't see how the stomach would be able to separate the 2.maybe I'm wrong

Yes mate that's spot on ... Skinless and boiled and mix it with boiled white rice that's been throughly washed ... Start them off on just half a handful each per meal mate ... That way they are getting a feed but not filling them up so that hopefully they will be hungry the next time you go and feed them ... You don't want them stuffing their faces at every meal until they are well again ..........

Didn't realise it contained much salt.ive allways used about a 1/4 teaspoon in about 50ml odd of water mixed through food for fussy eating pups. It seems to switch them on to the food.

Any way hope they come on ok get a good appetite Owain.

This fooker what ive got just went off raw food at about 10 weeks old. People advicing me to take it away if he refuses etc. But he would just turn his nose up at it. Then you see the weight dropping off quite rapidly and vomiting byle.

Then I just started boiling his food up and still do to this day and he still prefers it warm, but will also eat cold. Pain in the arse but, he is in good condition. Fatty lamb soon put the weight back on him with minced chicken which I think has plenty of fatty skin in. I used to add brown rice, wholemeal pasta or wholemeal bread. I found this help firm his stools.I also used beef dripping over meals like boiled rabbit, just to add some fat. I used to add a sprinkle of SF50 to some meals to.

I am no expert mate, but that's just my experience with this fooker from last year as a young pup.
