Road Trail 125 Or 250

Recommended Posts

Id be looking at 250s .. And 4 strokes like the yammy wr or Honda xr/xlr .. If I was wanting a 2 stroke for green laning and road riding id be looking for a kmx200 , there very underated but can be easily tuned up ..

But if I had a full licence id be looking at a 400/450cc bike like the suzuki drz or ktm models

I think they stopped making the kmx early 90's I had one and kdx. And the xr,s were replaced with the crf,s, so any of them would be real old and prob need work to keep right. The drz is very heavy bike!! Try picking them out of bogs!!

I had a DTR 125 for green laneing no where near as quick as the crossers I've had.... even when opened up. but for reliability it was spot on ...I would roam much further than I would dare take a crosser Quiet to .

I prefer the older ones as you can probably tell

I had a drz400e and never thought about the weight of them cause I never done nothing serious with it just green laning ..

I've had a blast at it in the past a few nice bikes out there I had a Kawasaki hated it rusted and the gearbox was a nightmare , 2 stroke fantastic but noisey and can bitch to maintain especially 250s 125s can be fantastic fun nice and light , depends on your size and build, but Honda as have been mentioned the 4 stroke seem robust and bomb proof , I love a good Husqvarna to be fair though. Lots to look at but depends what your doing with it , I've a full license so engine size is irrelevant, but I've been thinking of getting a 125 to get out on suprisingly fun and cheap .

Hope that helps atb
