glenng 15
i have a coat for each dog.more for protection from the savage branbles than keeping them warm.i think they are made by dokken.tried the jack pyke one but it only lasted for a couple of shoots before it failed.hope this helps. bell 3,602
Spaniels do shiver mate, doesn't mean they are cold always. I have a jack pike one for water work and to put on at the end of the day but wouldn't consider working mine in cover with one on. Spaniels eat up brambles mate, never mind putting a coat on to protect them lol. Quote Link to post
glenng 15
I have no reservations about putting a coat on to stop any of my dogs getting torn up by brambles.when you see the rips in the underside of the coat its better that than the dogs chest. Quote Link to post

Why dont spaniel lads use them then ?........ive never seen one being used to work cover, risk of getting it caught up on roots, wire etc springs to mind, wouldnt want to spend half the day looking for the dog ? glenng 15
no different than a dog wearing a shock collar when working cover and i have seen a few of those.if you have ever had to stitch or superglue a dogs chest after it has caught a felled tree branch when working cover then in my experience prevention is better than cure.
