Waterloo Cup Ground Under Threat..!

Recommended Posts

Yet again the famous coursing ground Altcar Estate, home to the Waterloo Cup, is under thret from the developers, they plan to instal 12 wind turbines, at a height of 136.5m, all over both the Withens and Lydiate fields.

Following the death of Lord Leverhulme and the demise of coursing, a business syndicate has taken over the running of the estate and plan to ruin the coursing history there forever!

Personally i feel its another hunting travesty and if you are like me and spent some glorious years watching the blue ribband of coursing, or you just feel like hunting history gets shafted enough, please take 5 minutes to go on to h-alt.info website and see the link to the objection letter and help out.

Once its gone, its gone forever...

If someone can put up the link it would be appreciated.

Thanks for reading.

The last bit of greenbelt local to me was supposed to be protected, but i hear 3000 houses are going to be built on there, there is a few protest banners being put on fences, but when i saw the new drainage systems going in a few years ago, i thought it might not be too long before the money men got their way, selfish f****n parasites

They make good money for the landowners so maybe the new owners are just thinking about the ££££££ Vonga I've seen a few farmers change after having wind farms installed and all laughing straight to the bank you got to ask yourself what would you do if you owned the land nothing happens on any more can't develop can't course turbine company gives you a big number to install and use your land a lot of people would take the offer sadly like I say been on a lot of wind farms in Lincolnshire Northamptonshire Leicestershire all was good hare land

Wind farm better than big development imo. Old running ground still gonna be there, with a modern twist.

gotta agree there, wind farms are just a fad and won,t always be about, houses are there forever, you just have to hope you can still get on the land after the fad moves on to wave power, you can,t hold back progress and big business, money talks,Plucky
