I write this with a lump in my throat. I have finally had to put my old dog to sleep. He was my first dog that my grandad gave to me when i was 8 we did everything together he would come to school with me everyday, sleep in my bed every night and everything inbetween. We have had many years together he wasnt the best sheepdog in the world but he was up there with them.

He lived a much more luxurious life than all my other sheepdogs as he lived in the house with me and it showed on his waistline. But he worked all his life until a couple years ago when he decided to call it a day and retired himself and just pottered around the yard and would sometimes come down the feilds with me or get in the way in the sheep pens like all old dogs do.

It was the hardest thing i have ever done but it was the best for him it would be cruel on my part to let it drag on longer than it needed to. So now he lies along with the rest of all the other past dogs that have spent there lives working along side my family.

You will be dearly missed max and i will see you on the other side.

RIP Max

Gutted for you pal, never easy no matter how old they are.

Sounds like he wanted for nothing in life though and was loved til the end, a dog can't ask for more than that

RIP Max old fella.
