TOM HEAVY 140
Hi all, is it jus me, or why is it...every time I visit the 'vet' do I get the living life patronised out of me... IMO these are 2 novice questions that were asked by 'a professional vet' they are as follows... When was the last time you wormed your dog?? Tried to prescribe some worming tabs... (piss off) How often do you feed it and what do you feed?? (come on, have you seen the amount of muscle on the hounds) its not the 1st time the girl has questioned the health of my hounds, I have tried to explain the breeding of them (saluki) and also their position in the family tree, it has no evade. I think she see's me as a cruel dog owner, but her eyes are so tightly shut, as of the rest of the 'anti' opinion are, country wise, stupid guys, like most, don't see the bigger picture... tsteve9999 456
I changed my vet recently because of a number of things. It started when my old dog needed stitches for a tear on his chest, the vet quoted 150 quid if they had to knock him out, so I said I'd run it through the insurance. When I picked the dog up the nurse let slip that he had been so calm they had stitched him with just a local, yet a few weeks later it turned out the bill they'd sent the insurance company was £225.00. The next was when I took my 7 year old hob to be PTS, it was pretty obvious to me he'd had a stroke or something similar as he'd gone off his back legs. Against my better judgement I let them give him a steroid shot which did nothing other than cost me 15 quid. Th final stroke was when they quoted 120 quid to vasectomise the new hob, a quick run round local vets and I had it done for 60 Quote Link to post

bird 9,916
well the 1st one, regards worming , its fair question at least they ask about the animal welfare . I r rather have that , than some prat who say nout, but still want your money . regards food lets be honest most lurchers look under weight to pet dogs lol. my 1x gsd xgrey 85 lb 28in , you can see 3 rib both sides and feel his spine, and that's a 85lb dog lol, just chill with them ive had lurchers over 30 years most vets will ask few things about your dogs , if there not looking after them fair enough go else ware Quote Link to post
