Mixed Bag Last Night

20160119_154903_zpsaslc4ew3.jpg --- Took the daughters lad out with me last night and I gave him the use of my mk2 [he is privileged] and although he missed the 1st few birds due to trigger being very fine .he got to grips with it and accounted for most of these birds whilst I spotted and worked the dogs -all pigeons were for his dad and every one was head shot lads -taking him out tomorrow in search of squirrels -billy20160119_162452_zpsc5rndzrl.jpg

Nope "not biting" :no::feck:

 

 

Nice shooting ftm and nice to see pigeons prepared for the table too.

Pigeon, or anything else, shot correctly with an air rifle is lovely for the table compared to a gun with two barrels :whistling: .

So true. I took a few birds off a keeper before xmas and f*ck me, there were a mess internally.

Not prepped my birds like this for ages, normally just breast um. Whats your methods for the oven? Bet they take no roasting time...

I pre cook a dish of veg -ie carrots turnip potato then add pigeon with a small onion tucked in to heart cavity area and let simmer for another 25 -30 mins on a low heat using a beef stock
