Guest Frank
My freind has a MK 1 and it plays up on all metal fences. I have a MK 3 and it never plays up, no matter where i use it. Quote Link to post

stringer9 0
if the fence was electric that would have upset the locator. regards,stringer9 Quote Link to post

PETEWINN 5
Quite normal for Mk1 to play up near metal fences. Electic fences give out a pulse which adds to the confusion. Quote Link to post
lamperman 12
mk 1 s don t like metal ore in rocks either Quote Link to post
bill88 6
My mk1 goe's mental when near wire fences.Last time out the fert entered and then made his way along the tube towards a mesh fence,as soon as i got within 10 feet of the fence, the locator started squealling, and would detect feck all.Another thing i've noticed is if the soil is sandy, the readings are all out,i.e when the fert is 2 feet down the locator reads 4or5 etc. Quote Link to post
richie 1
my mark3 was making strange sounds & giving eratic readings the other day every now & again..... then i realised i still had my mobile in my pocket. it makes it go crazy. turn your mk3 on & call up voice mail to open up the signal, listen to your receiver go mental. all mobiles send out an occassional signal now & again to pickup & stronger signal. from now on i leave my mobile well away.
