Popular Post s.e.s.k.u 1,893
Had a very tiring but very enjoyable day yesterday with a good mate..alarm set for 3.45 I was setting off at 4.30am hoping to arrive at my mates at 8.30-9.00am.. We usually up and out by the that time but he'd been at his local hunt ball Saturday night so we'd decided on a late start .. Not for the first time this season I'd been let down at the 11th hour by a mate who was supposed to be travelling down with me ?? All went to plan and after a cuppa and breakfast we headed to a farm and in particular a small bit of woodland that my pal had dug before easy spot for a young 1st season dog which is what we had taken with us.. My bitch Pip and her sister Tia.. Both bitches had stuttering starts to their careers compared to the dam (owned by same mate) but Tia had been dug to twice recently and knowing she'd come good gave me hope about my Pip.. Well the easy spot we tried was checked by both dogs and despite it looking well used no one at home .. Bad start to the day..we headed back to the farm house but as we were just about to hop over the fence Tia marked up a tiny bolt hole we netted up only 3 holes and mate opened it up a bit and in she went wow it was tight .. Got a mark on her .6 she was struggling to push on again we opened it up a little and she was now able to get up to her fox.. Had a mix and bolted it job done .. It was midday by now so we headed to another spot a place we hadn't dug before but it was local so we decided to give it a go.. On arrival it looked used so collared my Pip up and she flew in keen as mustard and after 10-15 minutes got a mark at 2.5 on the bellman so down we went first 1.5 m was ok but got harder and the last 2 feet was a test lol a couple of hours later we broke through and was very happy to see the young bitch working away nice and steady .. Job done not an ideal place for a young dog but looks like the penny has finally dropped.. 2 happy terriers and 2 happy owners?? Pip on the left and Tia on right A happy Tia.. I'm well pleased, my pup pip has not been the easiest to get going .. Started ok but I've had doubts about her .. She's 19 month today so maybe I've expected too much too soon? They are all different and I'm also learning as I go along.. Fingers crossed atb sesku 1 Quote Link to post
