devon flighter 421
im notoriously bad at taking pics "my eysight is worse than my arthritis ,and thats some statement believe me " but yes ,dont want to derail a yank thread though ,its nice to keep things orderly ,i will put them on here http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/353050-this-years-youngsters-2016/

Chicken_man 1,651
Out of interest do you use false light or anything for early eggs, or nature's way? I can never get a broody that early. Do you breed off your good broodys, in the hope of passing on that trait? I hatched one gold top last yr for that purpose, I'll see how she does. Cheers
devon flighter 421
we thought of getting a couple of gold tops last year cm but ended up with enough game going broody as you know ,no expert but would think that game birds being reared by a game bird would keep instincts ? any comments on this ? trying not to derail a yank thread but failing here :hmm:we are using the heat lamp on a timer to extend the light a bit giving them 14hrs as suggested , we will change the bulb to a normal light bulb though in a couple of days
Chicken_man 1,651
Game hens are excellent broodys, gold tops usually go broody at the drop of a hat. That same question goes out to Lil.
LILTHEDON 103
I just use broodies cm no incubators or lights just natural the chicks are so much healthier imo
