Elvis aside, if i was gonna call it on who i rate as THE best singer in modern music it would be Eddie Vedder hands down. I don't believe there is a voice to get near him. Beat me to it there Bosun, I'm my opinion definitely one of the greatest vocalists ever, even when doing cover versions like 'baba O'Reilly' and 'crown of thorns'.
