horsedrawn 38
h %who has his passion not only for the dogs but also his commitment to being a voice for Britain. Love his comments about the invaders taking the food (tripes)from his dogs mouths. Also trapping grey squirrels to protect the native indigenous red ,but when are we going to be allowed to protect the indigenous people of this once great country. His hatred of corrupt MPs of all parties and his sense of what is right and just. Who will come forward and take over? Any suggestions? Me I've always liked Phil Lloyds passion but time marches on (sorry Phil I'm 50 this year myself)
Phil Lloyd 10,738
@ Horsedrawn.. I used to pen a few words for the ED&RD magazine,..and enjoyed the experience.. Sadly, nowadays, .I can no longer put pen to paper,..and in truth,..I am ashamed.... Dave Harcombe was always a good friend to me,...(he got me out of a well set trap many years ago,..and facts are, I owe the man a debt of gratitude)..I would love to contribute to the magazine,..but, I like to think ,.he knows that I cannot..... Anyway,..I would 100% recommend this monthly treatise, to any genuine hunting man,..the mag is written by lurchermen and Terrier enthusiasts,... for their fellow hunters....and in today's bizarre political clime , we need all the help we can get.. All the best to all Mouchers, kind regards, Phil.
neil cooney 10,416
Before EDRD it was The Working Terrier then it was The Working Terrier and Running Dog and they even had the balls to go into the major newsagents. Then the antis sent them a small bomb, that went off. But they bounced back. But it disappeared all of a sudden. Then Mr Harcombe started EDRD and it was a breath of fresh air. There was some great contributors ie. Phil Lloyd ,Peter Tulip, Gary Hosker (remember Spud) and I think there was even a young lad who used to cause arguments called Jonno . Springview used to write for it and he passed last week. What was the name of the Welsh doctor who used to contribute some great historic articles ??? The editor was very outspoken on his views but in the few times I spoke to him on the phone you couldn't talk to a quieter more polite gentleman. I think I contributed my first article 20 years ago and it was always nice to hear that brown envelope landing in the hallway once a month. Mr Harcombe must be a brave age now and a few years ago he mentioned making plans for the mag to carry on in someones else's hands. Was there any truth to that ? Neal 1,894
As Paulus said, the magazine is only as good as the articles it receives. While I miss the articles by many of the "old guard" I also find myself looking forward to the articles by those who've started contributing over the last few years, especially the younger generation as they are, after all, the future of our sport... ...apart from the idiot from Hampshire who keeps harping on about his ruddy prick-eared Australian mongrels...let's face it...they're neither earth dogs nor running dogs! (I've tried putting a whistling emoticon in here but it refuses to let me post it!)
