beam 130
I've been shopping around for a new kennel and came across UK kennels. They seem pretty good in spec and quality, has anyone had any dealings with them and are they worth the money? The kennel I'm looking at is the wilton kennel and run 10ft x 4ft. http://www.ukkennels.co.uk/wilton-dog-kennel-and-run.html Edited January 16, 2016 by beam
LurcherLad94 2,582
for the price mate you may as well get a 2mx2m galvanized run and put a box on the outside i was going to buy one of these wooden ones but everyone i spoke to advised me not to

beam 130
Cheers for the input! I've looked up the price of timber and it works out a lot cheaper at just under £300. I have a few questions beforehand, will 11mm osb2 board be suitable for both the roof and kennel floor? I'll be using shiplap cladding for the kennel wall and surrounding run, would it be ideal to insulat the kennel with kingspan or will the cladding be sufficient? Cheers Edited January 17, 2016 by beam
jeppi26 1,855
Osb is ok till it get wet or damp and will sag in time 18mm exterior ply and as for insulation Kingspan will be sound I just used normal loft insulation and some old carpet over the opening to the kennel you wouldn't see the dog on a cold morning he was that warm and cozy lol

Looking to go down this route next year... I think it looks tidier and the full height head room gives plenty of storage above the sleeping area.

Atb For the slope on the roof?Mine will be about 100/150 mm slope enough for the rain to run off into a water butt then I will use that water then to clean the run out
beam 130
Cheers rex, I knocked a kennel up when I was about 18 in my mothers garden and forgot to slope the roof safe to say it didn't last long! Was proud of my efforts as well! Atb
