had the 16 pounder on the fly (duncan elgan orange shrimp) and the 18 cock fish and the 14 pound hen fish on the flyn c firetail spinner yellow and black (laytex) with 20 pound main line and 15 pound florocarbon leader :thumbs:

which beats?
Hoddom beat it was a bit low the first day second day was just right with a bit of rain. would recomend it take your fly rod and your spinning rod because there is a mark on the bridge and if the water is high enough it will show on the mark on the bridge whitch will allow you to spin the water i think the beat is 4 miles long with 12 named pools dont quot me on that though go onto fish annan site you will find everything on there ok buddy :thumbs:

its two miles long with 15 pools i think depending on water hight which pools you can fish but its one of the best beats on the annan in my personal oppinion were did you catch them top of bridge or below cheers 8) the mark on the bridge its about 1ft 10 inches to the top on the river level on fish annan your allowed to spin any height above that but i prefer the fly

here is a fish 30lb caught on the Nith by an old friend, his first Salmon on the fly. A fly tied by myself, I call it the Smithy asskisser ;) The fish was returned.

 

Nice big fish MASADA,can I ask when and where it was caught?

Nice..........the smithy asskisser fly' would that be the traditional black one or the chocolate variant?????? :hmm:
