Getting Off Zero When Changing Parallax

Recommended Posts

Parallax is adjusted using the AO bud.

Adjusting your parallax shouldn't change your zero.

The best thing to do is to focus your parallax at the range you zero at, when you zero.

But be aware that slight changes in your eye alignment through the scope at ranges other than your zero can change the point of impact easily. This is magnified by larger objective lenses and higher magnification

the front or side adjuster is the parellax the adjuster at the rear of the scope is to make the crosshairs clear and adjusting the parrallax should'nt alter the point of impact but will alter the mildot aim points

The ocular lens is for eye relief, and changing the parallax settings shouldn't do anything for mildot aim points? Only magnification does that.

I feel that my point of impact moves when I adjust my adjustable objective lenses sometimes . If I adjust and shoot at longer distances no problem but when I then shoot a ten yard and adjust the AO I have found problems . My impact point can move noticeably . I would think unless the lense and the threaded components and the scope tube were 100 percent perfect your point of impact has to move a bit . twisting the front lense of the scope has to be like moving your front sight if you were using open sights . the eye ball end of the scope lense that is pretty much set once you find the spot that focuses nice , but then again trying to shoot very close you my mess with it . As to what moving this lense does for moving the point of impact I am undecided .

Hi Zimpara, the scope is a Hawke airmax SR12, as ive said if zeroed on 10 mag you can focus on any range target, the impact point only moves if you change the mag setting not the ao, hope this makes sense.

this is the scope I have that have noticed this problem first . I get a problem when moving my object lense for sure . I think the problem is there is massive magnification so any inaccuracy is MAGNIFIED .ha ha
