If you're overweight and looking at doing a lot of cardio and high rep stuff I hope you look after your joints.

Mobilization exercises before you train and even just when you wake up will help.

how do you meen mate jest like walking the dogs or do i need to do streches and stuff

You'll want to stretch after you train,if you go to a gym ask one of the instructors to show you a routine, mobility exercises, proper form if you're doing weights, how to cool down and stretch etc it's all very important stuff to know or you can do yourself more harm than good.

Mobility exercises are something you do before you warm up that will help your joints.

Had a look on youtube and this vid walks you through a lot of exercises.

Lifting weights will burn more cals..

I'd agree with the cardio but id be swing bells,do sets of squats, deadlifts get your heart pumping.

Id do cardio as a light warm up and down..

Id eat well and a protin shake will do you no harm..

Good luck..

Ive been all shapes and sizes..

I lack dedication to keep it going..

I enjoy cycling in the summer , much better than running.

My protein.com

Lean protein, some hi rep weights and hiit cardio.

I gain 1.5-2 stone every July to December, then wipe it off training for ironman triathlon, be much easier if I kept it off.

Good luck .

cheers mate

This is as good an article as any I have found on food diet for training, the guy competes in power lifting and I think might have done a bodybuilder comp too.

Is doing a doctorate in nutrition or along those lines
