Regal With Xtx Reg

Recommended Posts

Hello all, I hope you all had a good xmas and new year. I was toying with the idea of swapping my Regal for a Rapid, but have been talked down by my missus's uncle (Bit of a Daystate fanboy), so, if I am keeping the Regal then my only option is to send it to XTX Air and have it serviced and regulated, which I will be looking at doing once their workload is down (Feb). What I would like to know is have any of you guys had this done to their Regal? Is it much better afterwards? If you have had it done, would you recommend it or should I give up on the Regal and swap out for something else?

I would like XTX to also sort out the rattly shroud, I think once regged and rattle fixed, it would be a pretty unbeatable little rifle.

What are everyone's thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Daystates quality has been going downhill over a number of years now. the same as bsa. there quality is bad. the thing i do not understand is if they are going to make a rifle why not make it correct

You are right Mitch. Any air rifle of this price point must be better set-up than this does off the peg-out of the box. I've said this time and again, but, Daystate had a really wonderful opportunity

Just imagine the Regal crossed with German engineering and reg` fitted as standard ? - Mouthwatering !         "Only a thought like"

Hi mate , XTX Air is not taking on any more work until later in the year

But I spoke to Carl from airtech about a reg in a regal ,Carl might be your better bet http://www.airtechrifles.co.uk/ Carl is all so a member on here as well

And no way is a daystate better than a rapid ,it's the other way round you will find !!

Thanks Villaman, I will have a look that air tech, yeah Theoben must be way better than Daystate, that's why they went under :tongue2:

Only joking mate. I've always wanted a Rapid and a Daystate, once I get the Regal sorted then a rapid or MFR will be next on the list, probably in .20 if I can find one

Lads, spoken to Carl at AirTech and he can fit my Regal in immediately and it's only £120, thank you for the advice, I will post an update when I get it back.

It will make the rifle mind

But the only way i would have one would be if i could find one cheap as i could not justify £800 plus

on a new rifle then another £120 or more on a reg

When you can get a new hw100 of any cal for less and will do the job just as good or better

I shoot with a friend and he has a HW100KS FSB and it's a lovely thing, it just leaves me a little cold, IMHO it lacks soul. Very nice bit of kit and no one can argue their quality and performance, but they're not for me I don't think. Once the Regal is sorted and regged I think it will be amazing.

You spend about £800 buying new, then spend another £120 to get it to shoot right ,daystate are taking the P***

The amount of people still complaining about daystate is unreal and not just about the regal

I think you will be happy about Carl and his work , he can be a bit of a nightmare to get hold off sometimes

You would think some one that charges up to £2000 to £3000 for there rifles would build them right the first time

and put a good reg in them from the start

and have a good after sales department

but no with them its

pay your money you take your chance kind of attitude

and its your fault when it go,s wrong not theres

in fact the only thing they do get right is the wood some of there stocks are out of this world

Not yet Mac, XTX Air are tied up with a backlog of work. Once it gets clear later in the year, I'll be having the service/regulator work done. Nothing wrong with the Regal's accuracy it's absolutely beautiful. But a really good reg is what it needs to sort out the silly power curve. I reckon it will make this a really stunning performance rifle.
