and the Alamo big john = Davie crocket gets killed in it

Can you name another classic (or two) that The Duke dies in..??

He died in The Shootist. And a war film ,Sands of Iwo Jima or something similar.

One more... ;)

and the cowboys , shot in the back , looking after young lads , what was the name of the killer .?

Yep Ray, was the killer played by Bruce Dearn, father of Laura Dearn?

Unforgiven is my personal favourite.

My Dads favourite that is, westerns are like songs I've always said, its hard picking "one" favourite.

High Plains Drifter for me

Tough call.. Love all three of the so called 'Dollars trilogy', more so the second two. Be very hard pressed to pick one over the other.. Unforgiven, Pale Rider, Hang em high, Two Mules for Sister Sarah, Outlaw Jesse Wales, etc. All cracking films. Django Unchained has got to be up there, one of the best I've seen. Also watched The Hateful Eight a short time back, also loved that.

the john ford directed film the searchers had john wayne as the star but did anyone see his son in the film.

Waynes son Patrick was the young soldier. He was in a good few of his dads films. A couple of his other kids made the screen too. Michael, Ethan and Aissa (who was Lisa in The Alamo)
