With poultry I'd find that a result too. You obviously didn't realise they were kicking about so damage would have eventually happen.

Strangely enough one of my kids accidentally left my ferrets out and they paid no attention to my chickens at all .......

Aye there no hungry. Don't feed them for 2 days then see how they get on...??

2 of them were out for a couple of days mate ......

Must be vegetarian then...
Or scared of chickens lol ........

?....first year I had my shoot I caught 7 ferrets at one pen. The second year I caught the same.

I knew the keeper before me and he said he had caught similar on previous years.

But on the 2nd year I caught a massive hob at another pen about 500 yards from the one I had bother at. I caught it in a fenn, that I hadn't pegged down, and it had travelled about 50/60 yards downhill and hooked on a rabbit netting fence.

I never caught another ferret.
