villaman 9,983
I no davy and si hold the ultra very highly and has say,d so many times but even that had its haters when it first came out and was very underestimated and people hated it with out shooting it and a lot had to eat there words once they did could be the same with this mind if it had a sporter stock and was not put together at daystate my feelings may be different VM atvbmac  no matter what people do in life you will always get your haters, just like every other air rifle on the market. lets take the walther LGU/LGV well underrated rifles, but shoot really well And getting very good reviews from any body who has shot one , But at the moment daystate are getting a lot of stick on different forums and this is from daystate owners as well , would i buy another one , I dont think so after the way daystate trated me i here ya VM as they say on balls of steel " there's only one way,to find out Mark " VM if you get a chance to try one,it may change your mind Funny you should say that , I went to a rfd on Friday to see if i could try one , they stock daystate and brocock but had none in and told me cant get hold of any daystate guns ,because daystate had no stock Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,556
I`ve held and shouldered the Compatto, i`ve dry fired the Compatto and it simply stops there. I hated the stock, i disliked the variable power feature but loved the discharge - as quiet as a knat`s fart. Great review Davy, Si and to be honest your review makes me want to pick it up again, (for a split second) . For me, at that price range and less, - BSA Ultra SE in a proper Minneli stock. atb Who`s been praising my balls Mac ? anyone we know ? xx 2 Quote Link to post
philpot 5,000
a very comprehensive review Davy. I believe you have covered every point for me although I would love to know what difference the power setting has on point of aim but that is something I will find out if and when I get one.If I were not retired, I would just go and buy one because I do like the look of it but cash doesn't allow me to do that nowadays so it will be something I have to try to save for. Retirement is great but it does have a few disadvantages, that being one of them. The Ultra is without doubt a good rifle and well proven in the field with many followers but to be fair, many many guys on the Airgun forum have had work done to their guns in order to make them really good and I have to admit that everyone who has had an XTX or Airtech treatment has agreed that the improvement was needed and worth every penny. Now does this mean that they NEED the tuning in order to be a good gun, well I don't know because I don't own one.The Compatto to me offers something a little different.A shroud that actually works so no need for a mod on the end of the barrel therefore maintaining balance.Power adjustment that can be very useful in and around building and sensitive areas along with extending shot count. No need to buy another air cylinder in order to get a decent shot count.Ajustable butt pad for better positioning if required.A tough resin stock to take the knocks already drilled for sling studs.A style that I like the look of.If we all like the samethings, there would be only one gun sold, one car type etc etc. There have been a number of people who have had problems with Daystate guns but it has to be said that there are many who have loved the Daystate guns they have owned or still do own but again as I have not experienced Daystate ownership, I am not qualified to form an opinion. Will I buy one?.............I think when the cash is available, I could well do so and by that time there are going to be quite a few of these guns out there because what it offers for the money will attract many buyers. My thanks to Si and Davy for an informative review.Phil Edited January 10, 2016 by philpot 1 Quote Link to post

charlie caller 3,654
I would just like to see it in a decent wooden stock, I reckon if they offered it in a laminate version it would be far more attractive on the eye. 2 Quote Link to post

bigmac 97kt 13,795
A thread on the airgun forum got closed down about this gun , some on there having a go at Davi and Si ,why the hell do they bother with some forums ,specially with that one !! Nothing wrong with the way it shoots as Davy and Si have show,n the only thing i think lets it down is the stock and daystate it just amazes me why they have not put a wood stock on it as iv say,d in another post the only thing daystate do get right is there wood stocks some of the best out there and even you cant argue with that VM and as for a post being shut down on another forum well some people just like to shout there mouths off and its all ways at Davyt63 and Si and the lads dont deserve it at all they have help,t 1000,s of lads out on here and other forums me being one of them and not just with air guns When my wife's brother and step dad past away with the big C with in weeks of each other Davy phoned me to ask if there was any thing he could do and offered his help in any way he or Si could and in my book that go,s a long way the ones that shout there mouths off ipo are just jealous of what they have achieved atvbmac 6 Quote Link to post

Newlife2 55
Whenever I get questions about the capabuilities of airguns I always refer them to Verminhunterstv.. It got me heading in the right direction, to HW`s Tx`s AA`s etc.. These boys need a monument to their work. Amen.. 1 Quote Link to post
