ive had a fair share of hard digs but rarely have they gone deeper than 6 ft. the average around me would be between 3/4 ft. only twice in my lifetime have i had to step a hole and i could count on one hand the times i have had to dig deeper than my hight, most of the deeper holes here are in bankings. these are generally the easy bolts if done right. and i do prefare to bolt . even from the famous scottish two footers

you kidding,we had to dig 10ft to a b*****d ferret up in the highlands, boys telling me my knocker box was f****d lol, wasn't bad going all sand.atb dc

Best feeling in the world when you think it gunna be a deep 1 and you look on the box and it says 2 foot

Went to a local place, dug it before at 3 foot or so, dog in and on, got her about 1.5 ish (from memory) then same spot at 2m, started down and the bottom of the dig collapsed, dog had moved on very slighty, but box said 4m WTF, was too tight a hole to throw up dirt but very easy going, so 2 buckets on rope.. opened up all the loose collapse and ended up tunneling on a bit, passed the bitch up and crawled up[ the tunnel for the critter.... well I met the nastiest sow ever and got charged by her aswell as coming over all claustrophobic, I bolted and the sow joined me in the tight dig, I tailed her and as there was no room to swing a.... she was using the walls of the dig to her advantage, my mate shimmied hal;f way down and I passed her up, for too long a moment we were at each others eye level, she was not a happy bunny, was very glad to be out of that chimney. The bitch was a little rough for her size till that dig, the critter calmed her a bit and left her impression forever if you know what im saying.

Dug it again a few seasons later, same bitch, at about 2 scrapes! with 2 in the pot.

Deepest we've dug is 6m, couple of 5's, and lots of 4's. couple of 3m in a day is plenty if we are out the next day also.

Fair play superman. Wish I could do a few 3m digs a day and go back out the next day and do it again. Sound.

i suppose its ok if theres a few of you. 3m takes a while on your own, especially in hard clay.
