j j m 6,540
I'm confused I've still got that as well
walshie 2,804
If you had a photocard licence with the paper counterpart, the paper counterpart is no longer valid and any new licences issued will just be the plastic photocard part. If you're like Tiercel and have a 20th century paper-only licence, that is still valid until it expires. If he gets a new one beacuse he moves or whatever, it will be a photocard one with no paper counterpart. If you're saying you have a photocard licence (with paper counterpart) AND an old paper-only one. You shouldn't have.

I've had a bump or 2 about 3 years back, during the claims process I had to email the insurance company a scan of my licence. The one 8,483
Both licences are still valid the old paper one is still in use till it expires or you change your address etc then you apply for the new plastic card type , then you have to renew that one every ten years as your appearance changes and you need a new picture or they fine you
Rabid 1,936
Nowt as queer as insurance companies, I have a trade policy, I have a few vans on it, any driver etc etc, well long story short, I had a ban, got my licence back, insurance said they would not cover me on the policy for two years, so I looked around for a personal policy, did a compare jobbie online, first and cheapest company to come back were the same firm as my trade policy, I had been 100% truthful about my conviction, spoke to them on the phone, re-iterated the ban, they said 'no problem' ! I also had to send them a code to gain access to my dvla details for my trade policy, but not my private policy, even though it is in black and white I am not insured on my trade policy, explain that one ! Walshie is bang on right about the paper counterpart been invalid now, you get an online code from dvla and supply that, they can check your complete record/history online now
