hare_n_hounds 157
My uncle bought a lure machine a couple years ago for the purpose of teaching a hopefull lamper etc to chase... I've always doubled a dog up at first to try m get the penny to drop (despite the old tale of they could collide n break there neck). Does the lure actually show a possible future working dog 'the way'.? Genuine question, as I'm always up for different tried n tested ways to mull over n see if there for me? Quote Link to post
Giro 2,648
Mate a pup would chase a crisp packet in the wind, they dont need doubled up. "The way" in my opinion is just start them with easy runs, when they are physically and mentally reading.. Had a shot with a lure on a beach in summer. They are okay to get dogs a stretch out. 5 Quote Link to post
Parabuteos lad 878
Do more harm than good, could make it yap as its not catching and a rabbit runs completely different to a lure so don't want the pup running rabbits the way it's learnt to run a lure Quote Link to post
