mark williams 7,556
Not one mention of the sticks not one and i check,d and check,d again must be off the pay list VM or they have snapped atvbmac  PS, new you would not take the 22 to hard for you to shoot eh Mark atvbmac  Aye up Mac ! Take a look at picture 4 mate behind the camo netting,- "my primos sticks" - click on the photo`s Mac to enlarge. I am giving .22 a chance again this year mate after shooting .22 springers exclusively for 40 plus years but i need to lead the 100 ks .22 with Falcons lead first.(accuracy) you see . .22 hard for me to shoot ? - - .177 (for me) is by far "the performance calibre" at 12 ft/lbs. and i`m now looking forward to an outing with my T Rex .177. springer. Going back to the photo`s lads and the spindle branches are a "no,no" (for me) in .22 at 38 yds, (trajectory loop) and "threading" or "key hole" shooting. Take a look again at the photos all "head shot" or "heart/ lung" shot and not one without instant despatch, - all taken with cross hair precision.( perfect placement) ! atb. Quote Link to post

random 659
Right then back on topic and away from the calibre debate! Did you shoot them from the tree in front mark or on the ground, what sort of ranges? Really like the look of this method and will try it when I get a chance... Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,556
I love static ambush shooting into well used, busy, sitty trees. Using a heavy rifle on shooting sticks is a "must use" option,- (for me). I prefer my rifles to be able to "strike a match" at 40 yds rather than a polo mint hole ( that`s easy) - whatever the calibre. " only saying like" 1 Quote Link to post
bigmac 97kt 13,795
I like my pro sport 177 i like it alot BUT like the last one,s iv had in 177 ie scorpion, pro sport The proof will be in the hunting and i could not get rid of the other two quick enough after hunting with them You see Mark i hunt , its all well and good sitting and having the rifle static so the shots are easier but out in the field standing, kneeling then thats what counts only saying like atvbmac 2 Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,556
I put food on my table Mac and keep the vermin numbers down too you know . I use .177 for this job "normally" as i can shoot to a fair standard - i never needed .22 to make up for poor shot placement either . I like to ambush my prey as i can be a "Funning Cucker" at times. No,- no beating my chest over calibre, or style of hunting "Ner- ner-na- ner-ner " TWAT ! 1 Quote Link to post
bigmac 97kt 13,795
Just got back from the shooting range with Vis and i must say this pro sport is some thing else i took the hw100 along to but never got it out of the disco just left it there hitting every thing again with it but once again that was rested on a bench static will put a thread up with photos later or tomorrow when im get my fecking lead so i can get the photos up lol but still will need to get out hunting with it and see what she is like then and may get a hw100 in 177 full length i may go to 177 after all MAY BE or AS WELL AS 22 atvbmac  2 Quote Link to post
David.evans 5,323
Go for it Mac , having both isn't a bad thing , might even get a 100 in .22 as well just for the feather Atb Quote Link to post
villaman 9,983
As you know i shoot both and both will do the same but .177 at night time is the best imo ,It means with my set up ,i can shoot from 10 yards out to 41 yards with no hold over 2 Quote Link to post
David.evans 5,323
Same hear Mitch 177 at nite , that's all I've got any way , but I'm now getting the urge to get .22 just for the crack And a change Atb Quote Link to post
just-A-snap 1,269
.177 or .22 No, get yourselves RPG-7V2, one of the best available for vermin control at this moment in time. Current production ammunition for the RPG-7V2 consists of. PG-7VL Improved 93 mm HEAT warhead effective against most vehicles and fortified targets. Replaces the earlier 85 mm PG-7V HEAT warhead. PG-7VR Dual 64-mm/105 mm HEAT warhead for defeating modern armoured vehicles equipped with reactive armour blocks. The first warhead (64 mm HEAT) detonates the reactive armour block prematurely and the second warhead (105 mm HEAT) passes through the gap to hit the exposed armour underneath. TBG-7V 105 mm Thermobaric warhead for anti-personnel and urban warfare. OG-7V 40 mm fragmentation warhead for anti-personnel warfare (warhead is within calibre due to limitations of international treaties). GSh-7VT [2013] Anti-bunker warhead with cylindrical follow-through blast-fragmentation munition followed by explosively formed penetrator All the above are more than adequate for all Fur and Feather. Everyone always ignores any international treaty and more powerful ammunition is available if you know where to look. Good Hunting Everyone All the best Edited January 9, 2016 by just-A-snap Quote Link to post
