gnasher16 30,535
Doesnt surprise me in the slightest......infact anyone who knows arm wrestling wouldnt be surprised........technique beats power, experience beats youth. If anyones interested look up people like Allen Fisher,Richard Lupkes,Dave Randall......all in their 60,s and still at the top of their game.

Lab 10,979
I don't know why the don't just make a machine to see who has the most power. All this twisting wrist bollocks. Just get a machine, get locked in and see who is the worlds best. I love an arm wrestle......whooped some big lads and been beaten with a couple that I'd thought I'd win easy....? Thats like lining up the best boxers and getting them to hit one of them fairground punchball things to find out who the worlds best boxer is !......top level arm wrestling is a highly technical sport....to find out who has the most power you could simply do a dumbell curl, whoever lifts the most is the best......an arm wrestler has to be strong in the whole arm and will zero in on his opponents weaknesses using technical ability/speed/brains/strength. John Brzenk is around 13 - 14 stone and possibly the greatest in history....Lars Rorbakken was a world level strongman competitor of around 20/21 stone.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9jBcFf28Mc Bjornsson is 6 ft 9.....30 stone and took 3rd place in this years worlds strongest man competition........Larrat is 6 ft 5......16 stone and World Heavyweight Armwrestling Champion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Mllm-jHD8U Edited January 7, 2016 by gnasher16

Fair points......maybe a bit more to it than you'd think. Still think the person who wins it wouldn't be the person who had the pure strongest arm strength. If you see what I'm getting at. It requires a completely different kind of strength to gym strength as its focussed on the negative cycle of the muscle and requires serious tendon strength......with your dumbell curls get a weight you cant curl but can hold at 90 degrees to your body.....thats your tendon strength........strength for top level arm wrestling is about hand strength, rotator strength as well as the belly of the muscle....even your lats come into play and if theres any weakness anywhere it will be exposed by technique.
