The ultra is a good rifle straight out the box. the main problem with the ultra is the shot count more so if its a .177 on a good day you may see 35 ish shots after that its on its way down. but once worked on the rifle is easily capable of going against rifles costing much more. the main work i do with ultras is fit a larger air cylinder and a regulator. valve bounce is also a problem. that needs sorting. but there again all the bsa rifles use the same system so all have valve bounce. once that is adressed the ultra is as good a rifle as you can get.

To do a full tune to a ultra SE that is fitting a regulator fitting a larger air cylinder replacing the complete hammer system replacing the hammer spring guide doing other work recrowning the barrel porting the barrel throat and fitting a shroud silencer in anodized black alluminium is £180 i also do full carbon fibre shroud silencers in gloss or matt these on there own are £75 but if i do the full tune i do these along with the tune for £220 with a 325mm air cylinder and the full tune you can expect around 100 to 115 consistant shots.

Such false economy don`t you think ?

With respect to these lads making such great improvements to these rifles wouldn`t you think BSA, Daystate, Brocock etc, etc would have these improvements in place and give you the option to buy ?

ie, - standard BSA Ultra - £500 (for figures sake)

- BSA Ultra "Hunter Supreme" ( made up name ) - £750

" just a thought"

Maybe running a business "picking £1 coins up" would be too hard for them ?
