Well you learn something new every day.

Mr Hinks was from Mullingar, County Westmeath. A place that still produces ugly sonsabitches to this day, LOL.

So does that make the EBT an Irish breed, not that we'd want claim to the cur (although it might make the Cork boys a bit happier.) ?

Might be ugly but still produce the best terriers in the county,as for the other end of it MEATH,well what can i say,we were delighted to split with ye.

Well at least we agree on one thing Fatman, ye are all ugly b*****ds, LOL.

And you didn't split from us. There used to be a 5th Provence in Ireland, Meath.

And we f****d you's out.

But, have to admit, there is a few useful terriers down your end of Westmeath.

19th_bulldog_and_two_bullterriers.jpg

New here and have been reading this thread with interest. Just thought I'd post some old paintings of 19th century bull and terriers just to prove that that's what they really are!

This painting is from the early 1800s and is titled "Bulldog and two bull terriers" - it shows the difference between the old bulldog and the new crosses that went on to become the foundation of the APBT, Staffordshire and bull terriers, among others.

Those bull terriers look a lot like the kennel club boxers we have today. Maybe that's why there is so many sh1t bull cross lurchers about. They are putting the wrong breed up on the greyhound???. Boxer x greyhound should be the new fashion. The original bull.?

Ye let Cromwell walk all over ye in Meath but we stoped him in W-Meath and sent him back to England with his tail between his legs, lol.
