marshman 7,758
Got up this morning got ready put the dogs in the motor whilst driving I rung 4 different mates if they fancy a run out with the dogs . Excuse after excuse I got from all of them so nobody fancied it one mate said he had some tilling in the bathroom . So I was on me tod anyway gets to the permo and got told to go to to a dump as they had seen fox there , collared up my youngster and let him of the lead anyway wasn't long before he found . When I pulled back the conifers to see where my young un had gone this is what I see ! 3 Quote Link to post
marshman 7,758
Anyway gets a mark on the locator 1.6 on the other side of the bank . So starts to dig first spade in and clang hits something metal cleans around it gets the spade under it and eventually lifts an old bike frame . Spade in again hits a roll of barbed wire and this is how it went on . Old duvet countless old glass bottles a plastic bucket a large piece of hardcore a roll of Hose pipe and lastly a fooking exhaust pipe of a motor . It took me two hours to get down I was soaked through as the heavens opened up, anyway breaks through with my youngster working away and job was a good un ? fat man 4,741
Good goin Marshman both you and the young dog.Happened to me last year while exercising dogs out in the bog.I had a lurcher and 1 terrier out with me and was in a spot where i believed there was no earths as i have walked this ground for the last 26 years. The lurcher put her nose to the ground and away with the terrier close on her tail.I got the lurcher with just her arse sticking out of an earth and could clearly hear the terrier below.Went back to van for shovel thinking it would be an easy job as its only peat soil but 1st i hit chainlink wire and after geting around that and geting it out i then hit a half sheet of galvinize, onlt shallow,3ft but the job to get there was the worst, them old tips are a nightmare. 1 Quote Link to post
marshman 7,758
Strange thing is this youngster has been a 100% bayer up till yet but today silent , perhaps he feels more confident now I don't know . Quote Link to post
