No Mole Traps

Recommended Posts

Caught loads with the no mole and are very quick and easy to set but the putange is a far better trap that kills more humanely and will last years longer and more importantly they are far far cheaper ......

Go to my website www.norfolktrapper.com as I have been buying Putanges in bulk from France and selling them to professional mole catchers for the past few weeks.

That's a decent price fella .......

Tip from someone who knows!!: Bury them for a couple of weeks to rust them up, not the squares though. I use army green string to tie my squares on, fishing line gets tangled too easily, you could use chain. They have a working life of over 20 years so are incredible value and I can set a pair quicker than a duffus or talpex. Good for those 3 run holes as well. I have about 200 and they are all I use apart from some talpex in crumbly soil like borders. One piece of advice, release the trap before you put it in the bag, they are fecking painful and difficult to remove!”

You only have to bury them to take the shine off if the traps are the cheaper ones made in the Far East. Most of the Putanges used by the French pros are ready to go straight from the box. The only time you really need to tweak them is if the trigger ends don't quite meet up, and if that doesn't sort it, then a bit of soil rubbed onto the touching parts or a quick rub with emery cloth is enough to do the job. Also, the working life of a Putange depends on how well made they are, i.e. wire diameter and tensile strength. I've bought some Putanges that wouldn't last a season let alone twenty years.
