werbad 43
How thick should the slip lead be? Someone said it needs to be thicker something about the neck Quote Link to post
bmull 189
no collar its not worth the dog breaking its neck Quote Link to post
Ross M 149
You can use a bit of rope or long dog lead, put a hoop in sort of half way down ( hard to explain due to size of your dog and you) That way you feed one end throw the hoop and hold while the othe bits on your wrist, that way dogs secured with collar like slip and work by just release like any normal slip. If I could draw or maybe one of yous can that know what iam on about you'll see how easy it is, But like I say better training to work off slip 1 Quote Link to post

My dog always has a collar on, easy to grab a hold of when out for a walk and if I run with another dog there always easy. If running alone she doesn't need the slip she walks to heel as she is steady. Edit to add: one of these Ross? Edited January 3, 2016 by frankel Quote Link to post

MIK 4,756
I can't get my head around how some lads don't use a collar imo the pluses of using one totally out weigh the negatives I've been running dogs for near 20 years and have never seen or heard of a dog injured due to wearing a collar ...I would of struggled a few times over the years if the dog didn't have a collar on ..the strong stuff reflector collars are a very good piece of kit 4 Quote Link to post
Ross M 149
That's it bmull thanks for putting a pic up, as they say a pic says a thousand words. That's the type of slip lead to use if you don't like collars Quote Link to post
