I think cushty is doing it on the sly a bit at a time....if he sets fire to it or uses a tractor the real owner might turn up and spoil his claim! :-)

Machine not handtool around half acre of bramble bushes that not been touched in 30 year

 

Well then a tractor and swipe I guess and I reckon I could get through bramble quicker with a hedge trimmer than that allen scythe.

Can't get a tractor in thier as there is no gateway just a small gap of 2 foot can't remove trees at this stage to widen entrance

Fews years back i used to work for faughan anglers on the river faughan, the brambles were big juicy feckers, rows upon rows, anyway used the sycthe to clear them, tough going, i was glad to see the flail machine arrive, only thing, sharpening the flails was laborish,

Yeah mate, hand sycthe, clearing them brambles is hard graft, but its doable

What where you doing scything the. And raking it all up I might give it a bash by hand I'm going to clear it over a few years and spray it regually once cut
