hi would you buy a dog or bitch for working which is the best

its down to personal preference there is good and bad in both sexes.

i prefer a dog because they dont come into season so you can take them hunting anytime you wish to go. i also prefer dogs as i think they tend to be just that bit more thicker set and generally stronger built but again i like thick set lurchers.

 

they dont seem to mature as quick but a good dog is a loyal as any bitch will be imo.

My lurchers have all been bitches except my first ever dog a beddy whip called rambo got him around 85,followed me everywhere and we had some fun mostly rats,cats he was a f****r for catching birds and his party trick was he could get out off anywhere and walk/balance on top rail of the feather edge fence we had,hell of a little dog tough as old boots,he had pins in 3 of his legs after he was pulled apart by 2 rotti X's and ended up with 187 stitches to put him back together,on my life,little f****r was harder than most the black dogs I've had since,less hassle with a dog runner,don't lose condition through seasons etc,down to personal preference. Think that pisses me off with my dog pisses on every wall and anything so many times when we're out that does my head right in bitches don't , like it just wants its nuts constantly and CBA working. So next dog a bitch me thinks

Batches for me, mature alot quicker and are loyal although I've only ever worked one dog so haven't much to go by.
