devon flighter 421
just a thought but if you had a broody available at this time of the year ,would you set some eggs under her ? and if so would you give her a heat lamp to help ?
belucky 756
personaly I would set her in a decent insulated shed and I wouldn't think a lamp would be needed ,, jmo , atb belucky
Tuzo 251
I'd agree with belucky....the extra light is needed to allow enough time for feeding to promote health and growth.

stevo79 569
Daffs growing down south mate. Answer to your question mate the bantam won't need any light or heat while siting shel be plenty warm enough, when they hatch I'd say just hang a red heat lamp up where ever you can and just keep an eye on things. It's superising how hardy chicks are that have been hatched natraully under a broody. Atb Edited January 1, 2016 by stevo79
Tuzo 251
You want to be giving them around 14 hours light but a little either way won't hurt.

Tuzo 251
Yes mate that would be enough I'd guess as long as they can feed.
