FERRETBOY 680
me and world hunters decided to go ferreting today but we split up to ferret different warrens.my destination was a bank on the edge of a quarry which is littered with rabbit holes.the first warren was twenty holes or so but with only 9 nets i decided to net up all the holes to the right of me and i positioned bramble to the left to intersept any bolters.after about 10 mins of pulling myself back up the bank i finally laid the nets and within minutes a first rabbit hit one of my little blue nets.i hurried down to dispatch the rabbit but there wasnt much point as this rabbit was well pursed.after the first im always chuffed and anymore is a bonus ,so i let the young snappy ferret have a took on her prize.i decided to take it off her and she wasnt happy at all ,she struggled to the top of the bank so she was now level with stomach .the next thing took me by surprise as she leapt at me latching onto my coat with her teeth and shuck like hell.she persisted to be like this for the next few hours so i was making sure my fingers were not any where near them dentches of hers.bramble wasnt as aware of her hunting buddy (the ferret) and on the next warren stud a little to close and the ferret got a good hold of brambles foot .after a little tug of war she finally let go.LETS MOVE ON..no nets now on this warren (should of done ) ferret was entered and 3 rabbits bolted in quicked succesion.with bramble close behind she just could'nt put in a strike. All three headed back to the warren i had just ferreted and i could of took all three i think if i ferreted that warren again.i spotted the next warren i ran the ferret through from the bottom of the bank and decided to net the one hole on that side whilst i stood on the top of the bank.after a few secs the second rabbit hit the net.i decided to call it a day with the two rabbits as this would provide the ferret with food for a few days and i headed back to see how WH was doing.a very enjoyable morning today and my first ferreted rabbits since last season.WH maybe you will like to add to it mate with a few pics mate. good hunting rew Quote Link to post
