trigger2 3,146
with a combination of reading posts on here and seeing a couple of 150 sport lamps in the field i decided to buy myself one today. i got home with it and this afternoon i stripped down and rewired it to my spec as i do with all my new lamps. bird popped over tonight and we headed to our spot for a planned short walk just to see if the difference in beam colour had any effect on the dogs ability to work the lamp on the odd squatters that we may come across. the weather was against us a little bit as the rain stopped and the sky started clear, by the time we were back at the car it was bright enough for the moonlight to be giving off a shadow from us and the dogs. we ended the night on 10 rabbits in a little over a hour which i was pleased with. i am more than happy with the new lamp, it will be sufficiant for lamping local to me. and the colour difference in the beam didnt effect the dogs one little bit and i found i didnt struggle with it either. on the way back i stopped at a gateway and picked up another rabbit just to make the tally upto 11 rabbits not a masive bag but all in all a enjoyable night. 5 Quote Link to post

trigger2 3,146
Is this the new clu light ,,pl500 ,,,or somthing,,,the cordless jobby with built in battery.... By the way pm me how you went on ,,,with your little trip? its tracer's version of the plr500 they are exactly the same imo. mine isnt the cordless version as i dont feel they have been tried out in the field long enough for me to be trusting the life span of the battery over a season or two. £45 for the lamp with the cord on and a red filter comes with it aswell for that money. ive rewired it and run it off my 14 amp lithium. its only a 10 watt led and it is plenty bright enough for any lamping i do round here. i will drop you a pm later when the misses gets back from work and i wont have the kids then lol Quote Link to post

Iv used a 140 tracer and 10 amp with continuous of 2-30min run time and it's never gone flat on me. I know run a hid off same battery with lower draw do last about 3 hour continuous. That's quite a long time in my opinion. 3 hour continuous gotta be about 5 hours lamping? Quote Link to post

Id say with your set up there isnt enough dark hrs in a day to burn it out lol least if you forget to charge you can always go out the following night lol Quote Link to post

roybo 2,873
There's a member on here that will soon have a batch of the 150 with both battery and corded type delivered very soon . So my advice is if you can hold out a week or 2,there will be a decent saving to be had. For your information ,the one with the battery in the handle runs off 3.7 v I think ,and the battery is a 18650 that you get in a lot of led torches. So if the battery packs in after a season or 2 a few quid will put it right. 3 Quote Link to post

bird 9,968
yeh very good night, the lamp was brill, both dogs were picking the rabbits up easy with it, infact they both took couple squatters with it. so the spot light was bang on, I myself found blue light strange at 1st, being used to the norm white light , but got used to it as the night wore on . deff good buy for £45 quid and you get plenty of lamping hours with it and good bags if game there Quote Link to post
