Park a caravan on it you will find out in less than 24 hrs

Dunno about that one old boy parked on some land up the road donkeys years ago and rightfully owns it all now never had any bother apparantly and it even had a public footpaths running through his site and even that got diverted I think the highways owned the land originally aswell

Land registry........although it don't mean someone don't own it if it's not registered.

If you can stay on 12 years and prove you have been there the whole time then you may be able to register it to you.....if the owner don't show up.

Bottom line is, there is no guarantee, you take your chances and see what happens

Get an OS map of the area colour in the bit of land you're interested in send it to land registry office they'll let you know who its registered to, if it is registered

And what if I find its registered to a local pub that has changed hands lots of times this land has never in 40 years had anyone go near it the footpath is almost like a jungle ild put money on me bieng the only one using it as I can view it all day long

Theres lots of "what ifs", this is what I done, sent a map to LRO with the bit coloured in I was looking into they sent me a letter saying it was unregistered, I got a solicitor to get it legally registered in my name (I'd been on it 20 yrs anyway), so now Ive got a bit of land enough for kennels, house, gardens and parking for £680, had a word with 2 mates who are councillors and they cant see a problem with planning permission, all services are within 50 yards as well.. :D
