buster gonads 862
The Diawa Amorphous range were very good rods, i,v got a 13ft super light amorphous wagler which i used for stick float fishing, more forgiving than the stick version when using light bottoms, fantastic rod. jonnie bravo 572
Fly rods. I've had a bloke xl50, lovely rod, nice medium to fast action. And an orvis frequent flyer, 9' #5, more like a #6, fast action, very responsive, a little much for dainty work on rivers but it could really lob a line 1 Quote Link to post
stevo79 569
Im saying john wilson avon quiver. Ive just bought myself the signiture one and love it great toolMe to, bought one last year caught carp, tench, chub, barbel and all the small stuff. Had a 15lb Carp on 4lb line put a good bend in the rod. For the money you can't touch them. Quote Link to post

Nicepix 5,650
I know that people love to hate the John Wilson Avon, but I've had the travel version for about four or five years and love it. OK the top 2" of the 2oz quiver broke when it shouldn't have. Otherwise the rod is a pleasure to use and so versatile. I'm with jonnie bravo on fly rods; I have three bloke XL50 rods #5, #6 & #8 and they are faultless. An dream to cast with, great action when playing fish. I also have a #4 Orvis for smaller waters and again it is a cracking rod for the money. But my number one favourite rod has got to be the Fox 12' Stalker in 2.25lb tc. That combined with a good centrepin is perfect for stalking carp on rivers and lakes. I love it. 1 Quote Link to post
Daniel cain 45,574
Got a tf gear rod 11ft twin tip with 1lb 2oz test curve Avon top,use it for the chub and tenching smashing little rod IMHO have to take a look in the shed find out the name, think they discontinued. Atb dc ( x1 river and stream)Brilliant rods , I had one for chub and perch and wish I'd never sold it . If I remember right I think Simeon bond had something to do with that series and they did have a look of the freespirit rods .they have a lovely action when playing a fish,tf gear have done some nice specimen rods a little pricey but always get deals if you went to factory outlet, think I only payed notes for a pair of x1s,my mate been using the tf gear green barbel rods last few seasons,I've played a fish or two on them they a nice rod forget the model.have a look next time we are out.atb dc Quote Link to post
